Many of our products are handcrafted by independent South African producers, and slight variations between batches are natural.
4. Product Availability
All products are offered subject to availability.
Occasionally an item may become unavailable after an order has been placed.
Should this occur, Downtown Deli reserves the right to:

substitute the product with a similar item of equal or greater value (where appropriate);

contact you regarding an alternative product;

remove the unavailable product and refund that portion of your order.
5. Pricing
All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.
Prices may change without notice.
Errors in pricing may occasionally occur. Where an obvious pricing error exists, Downtown Deli reserves the right to cancel the order and issue a full refund.
6. Payment
Payment must be received before orders are dispatched.
We accept secure online payments through approved South African payment gateways together with any additional payment methods displayed at checkout.
Downtown Deli does not store credit card information.
7. Delivery
Downtown Deli currently delivers within South Africa.
Delivery times are estimates only and may vary depending on location, courier availability and supplier lead times.
For chilled and frozen goods, we use specialised temperature-controlled logistics wherever required.
While every effort is made to maintain the cold chain throughout transportation, customers should refrigerate or freeze applicable products immediately upon delivery.
8. Receiving your Order
Please inspect your order immediately upon delivery.
If there are any:

damaged products;

incorrect products;
-
missing items;
-
leaking packaging;
please notify us within 24 hours of delivery and provide photographs where possible.
9. Returns & Refund Policy
Due to the nature of food products, returns are handled in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act of South Africa.
Returns may be accepted where:

incorrect products were delivered;
-
products were damaged during delivery;
-
products have manufacturing defects;
-
products have passed their expiry date before delivery.
Products should remain unopened and in their original packaging wherever possible.
Cold and Frozen Products
For food safety reasons, chilled and frozen goods cannot be returned once the cold chain has been broken, unless the product was delivered damaged or defective.
Change of Mind
Unfortunately we cannot accept returns for:

change of mind;

taste preference;

products ordered incorrectly by the customer;

opened food products;
-
perishable goods that have been stored incorrectly after delivery.
Approved refunds will be processed back to the original payment method.
10. Gift Hampers
Gift hampers may occasionally differ slightly from photographs depending on seasonal availability.
Where necessary, Downtown Deli reserves the right to substitute products with items of equal or greater value while maintaining the overall quality and value of the hamper.

Many of our products are produced by independent artisan suppliers.

Downtown Deli cannot be held responsible for products that deteriorate due to improper storage after delivery.
